Erik's recovery -he needs a miracle

My fiancee, Erik Price, was in an accident on July 6th, and was thrown from a moving vehicle. He sustained a severe traumatic brain injury and was taken to Hermann where he had brain surgery and a large section of fractured skull had to be removed. He is on a ventilator and has not yet regained full consciousness. The outlook according to the doctors is quite bleak, anything from mild physical and mental impairment to severe retardation. In short, Erik needs a miracle, because the doctors can't heal this, but I believe God can. Please pray for Erik's full recovery, and that he get through this vulnerable time without infection or anything that will interfere with his progress. Also, please pray that as he regain consciousness, he not fall into depression, despair, and discouragement, but instead experience the encouragement and strengthening of the Holy Spirit. Please pray for Pastor Charlie he is over the children’s ministry in Friendswood Texas. They were having their vacation bible school this week and on Monday I took my granddaughter there who is 5 and I was going to just volunteer to help while she was attending class. Everything went good on Monday until they lost a four year old boy. It was very disorganized and they had walkie talkies and they had asked the teachers to do a head count of all the kids trying to find a missing 4 year old they lost after a restroom break. I just happened to be there help searching for this boy (this was after I spend over two hours volunteering my time to help with the other kids) and checking on Gracie to make sure they didn’t lose her and Gracie is one of those that like to wonder off. The 4 year old class room was next to Gracie and they had asked everyone in the class if there was a boy named Diego? One boy said yes, but they had the wrong name tag on him? Long story short they found him but I still did not feel safe leaving Gracie there the next day. I stayed with Gracie as they were going from room to room (including outside the building to enter another building. The Pastor came up to me asking me what I was doing because only volunteers could be hanging around, so I told him after yesterday incident of the boy coming up missing I just wanted to watch Gracie until she got in her room, so I knew she would be safe. He told me “well did they lose her yesterday” I said no and he just walked away. He came up to me the second time and said look if you are not going to volunteer to help I will have to ask you to leave, you can’t just hang around here. I said I would be glad to volunteer to help in here (the room where Gracie was) he said no that will not be possible. I said why? He said because I am in charge of where to put people and I don’t need anyone in here. Any person with common sense would have understood this and not made a big deal and would have tried to make me feel more secure about leaving my granddaughter, like stating they put in new policies to keep this from happening again are just letting me volunteer in this room where Gracie was until she made it to her room. There was no love no compassion about him, he made me feel like a criminal and made me leave. This is a house of God? This is my church family? The Church I came from before would have never done this to a parent or grandparent, they would welcome volunteers and they would want parents to feel safe leaving there children. I went to my car and cried for an entire hour, I could not stop crying I felt so violated, like a criminal that did not belong. I will never bring her back to VBS to this Church and he is not the main Pastor of this church only the children’s’ ministry which is very disturbing to me. Please pray that is there is anything wrong with this man God will reveal it to everyone to see; maybe he was just having a bad day and took it out on me. Carol

Dear Brother and Sister in Jesus Christ, I’m Edwin, a Roman Catholic was in love with a Girl name Esther, she was a very Good and holy girl. Hannah's MRI

Hello, my 6 year old daughter Hannah had a brain tumor in 2007. She’s had 3 surgeries and radiation treatment. She has to have a MRI every 6 months to make sure that the tumor doesn’t return. Functioning alcoholic

Please pray for my family and myself as we are living with a husband/father who is a functioning alcoholic. He refuses to get any real help and makes no attempt to really stop drinking. It has caused a lot of pain in our marriage and am worried about how it affects our kids. He tries to hide his problem and lies about it constantly. May God's will be done...

Please pray for Mike M. he is going through a really rough situation. He has spent the past yr. in jail and while their he found Christ and has just changed his life 110% he now lives his life in a way that I have never seen any Christian live it. I wish I could live mine even 1/2 the way he is living his. He was offered a plea deal of 25yrs. but told them no because he did nothing wrong and plans on standing his ground and have faith in God to prove it so now they are seeking life. I don't want to get too detailed but the crime he is accused of and I don't know for sure if he did it or not but I honestly don't believe he did but I am not here to judge but to pray for him and ask that everyone please pray for him and that the will of God will be done whatever that may be.

Stress at work

Very URgent Request

very urgent request. I dont know what to do now. IM going through a very tramatic experience and i didnt think it would be this hard. Last monday I got back in touch with someone that i reallly cared for that i havent talked to in 9 years but have had dreams about for 9 years and that has been in the back of my mind. She was my longest term girlfriend for 7 months. We were back in touch for a week and i had to say goodbye to her again. It was the right thing to do. I was getting along with her very well but it was also causing me alot of stress when days would go by without hearing from her. THere was a false alarm on her page that i got paranoid about where she was talking about dying. I made a 911 call. And i looked up family to try to get her address and found out things about her that made me very upset. Tell me if i did the right thing or not? I feel maybe i could have hung in with her more and been a listening and encouraging ear. Out of the blue i sent her an abrupt email telling her she needs to stop!! Get help. Your aunt loves you very much. That stuff your doing has taken control of you and made you a different person. Now i am about to block you. Or something along those lines. THen the next morning i sent her an email from my cell phone explaining why i did what i did. I told her that she either takes that stuff and flushes it down the toilet or she will never see me ever again. I told her about my faith and that it was alright to cry out to GOd, which she used to believe in God along time ago but got invovled in the wrong crowd and walked away and got worse. Now the stuff she has been on i dont know if it is the same stuff but has been doing crystal meth 10 years ago when i knew her. NOw may be a very critical time and if she is still doing that her i feel it may be too late. Plus i may have needed to cut myself off from her early. Because if the pain is this bad now, imagine how bad it is gonna get later? THat could be very very dangerous to my soul. I told her i didnt wanna watch her die an early death and i was not gonna lose her again. I dont know. Do you think that was a little early to be doing that? and saying that to her? She did reply to me and tell me that i was scaring her and that she didnt know what i was talking about but i know that she is lying. Why would a family member a christian family member lie about those things? Anyway the night before when i was talking to her aunt on the phone she was warning me not to give her any money and i told her how good she did treat me in the past and her aunt was very shocked when i told her that and couldnt believe it. And one thing i didnt think of that i forgot to tell her that not once did she ask me for money ever. Please just ask God to give me peace about this to let me know that i did the best i could and made the best decision i could to the best of my ability. And i listened to my family and to hers that it was best to cut communication with her. And thats what i had to do. I didnt want this thing getting any worse. Now i may need to go to therapy. But i hope it doesnt have to come to that and God works out the situation better than expected.

For Shane to not let any of his family come into our home and disrupt what I have been working for so long. For him to let his family have their own life and not allow them to be in our home to disrupt it. For them to want their own life and leave him out of their drama. In gods name I pray that this year turn around. 2 weeks ago my car caught on fire, my cell phone was stolen at work, and then I was laid off because I dont have reliable transportation. To make matters worse I now have no way to get my car out of the shop. The damages were nearly 2600. I have half of the cost but no where else to turn for the rest. I no longer have the job because of this. I am at a loss of words to do. I pray that someone will be placed in my life who can help me. I have no family to lean on. Another year passes and true believers of God's word and teachings remain persecuted around the globe by people who spread hate, misinformation, distortions and outright lies. These people of faith are routinely tortured, removed from their families at this joyous time of year, never to be returned. All for a simple profession of fate. Prayer to be Accepted Into an Affordable Nursing School

I have been applying for nursing programs, but with state budget cuts, it continues to get harder to be accepted. I finished my prerequisites a year ago and continue to apply to local schools. Pray for my mom & mother-in-law

I would like to request prayer for my two mothers. My mom has a brain tumor and has to have it checked every 6 months to make sure it doesn't grow. If it does, they will have to operate which could cause problems afterwards including death. My mother-in-law had surgery on her stomach to fix an incisional hernia and due to complications, she's had a large ammount of tissue removed and now a wound vac. She's really down right now and feels like she is drowning. On top of all this she is going through a divorce. I just want both of them to get through this tough time. In the past I have submitted these prayers privately, but I feel comfortable being open. Please pray that as she faces a season of change in her life she embraces it open to the love and healing of the Holy Spirit. She is leaving to go to Mercy Ministries. Her and I are no longer together as she has to take care of herself, but please pray that I can find the strength to love, encourage, and support her as I have and plan on doing and continuing to do. I probably care too much, but it's one of those things where I wish and pray to God I could make it better for her, but I can't. I know that I found something special in her, because what I have for her is of God, but I care about her well being more. I read that with prayer you need to be persistent and keep on praying and that's what I have been doing! I have been praying, asking others to pray. I have also sent out prayer requests to almost 100 prayer sites. This is the last chance I have before court to send out this request, so please pray!! Please I'm asking and begging for prayers for my boyfriend (Santos Almodovar). Please pray him that he is safe while in prison. He is getting sentenced on Feb. 9, 2009. Please pray for him.. Pray to God and ask God to allow Santos to be home in no more than 4 years. He has done nothing to deserve a longer sentence at all. I beg you to please, please pray for him. He has court on Feb. 9th and is in desperate need of prayer! Please make court turn out great for him! Please pray that court turns out great and that he will be home in no more than 4 years! Kate's sickness

My wife and I are members of the Loft. My wife had some tests done on Thursday after being sick for 5 days. These tests showed that she could possibly have autoimmune Hepatatis. This disease appears for no known reasons and is not curable. It is treatable with steroids and these have severe side effects. Can you please pray that these tests were wrong and that the next tests we will do this week come back negative, and that therefore Kate is fine and healthy. Thank you for you support and prayers. Natalia Lopez, 17 years old was just diagnosed with Acute Myelgenous Leukemia(AML)and has started her chemotherapy treatments on January 13th at the Texas Childrens Hospital. Where she will be staying for the next 6 to 8 months. The Lopez family lives in Woodlands and we have known Natalia as a part of our Soccer friends and families for several years now. She spends most of her time helping others through charities, mostly for children. She has already laid out a plan to start decorating the IV stands for the current patients on her floor. Father please pray that their should be a good understanding between us and this marriage should go on by the blessing of both the parents and relatives. Mike and his family have decided to stop the dialysis and move him to a nursing home to have Hospice start their care. Mike is a Christian but the unknown of what is happening is scaring him and his family. Mike is Debra's husbands only brother and this is very hard on him. Dr. and Mrs. Robb are in India for two weeks and are part of the team that will help lead an International Leadership Institute conference next week. The following update came from Mrs. Robb: Please be in prayer for Ed as he decides what to preach tomorrow night And Sunday at the church revival meetings on the coast, and for the conference next week. He’s really anxious to preach in a way that will communicate effectively to the local population here. Also, we’ll be taking a train tomorrow from Chennai to the town on the coast where the tsunami hit and that’s where he’ll preach first. Pray for travel safety. Prayer Request: Our 13 year old son, Jordan, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (testing positive for pancreas antibodies - doctors say it is incurable and unstoppable) on September 5, 2008. He was also diagnosed as having hypothyroidism. As 6-year missionaries to Kenya, we praise God that we were in the States when this diagnosis came. We are requesting prayers for a miracle healing of Jordan – complete and total. To the glory of God. India Jesus Followers

An urgent email was received this morning from ILI South Asia International Directors, Peter and Esther Pereira. Heavy persecution throughout northern India has led to several deaths and the ILI team has been directly affected. Peter and Esther write: In Orissa, a state north of Hyderabad, persecution is escalating. Yesterday, the radicals killed a nun from the orphanage by setting her on fire. This is the same state where the missionary Graham Stains and his two sons were burned alive in their jeep a few years ago. One of our ILI team members from the Kurdha District tried to distribute pamphlets for an upcoming ILI regional conference but was beaten and drenched in diesel fuel to be set on fire. By the grace of GOD, the match did not strike. They attempted seven times to light the match before the police finally came to the ILI team member’s rescue. He is now recovering in the hospital. ILI East India Regional Coordinator, Bikas, has suffered damage to all five of his branch churches and informed me that his main church is on a “hit list.” Already, a believer from one of his branch churches has been burned alive. While I am writing you this email, two churches are under attack. I just spoke to Bikas and he has asked us to pray. He is okay for now, but desperately needs our prayer. He estimates that the violence will continue for another 10-15 days. This state government is anti-Hindu and their response to help has been slow. Please ask friends to pray for our brothers and sisters under attack. Many have been killed; women and children have been abused. Pray for God’s protection. We just started an Alpha School for the children of the recent victims of persecution. Our staff is mobilizing to reach out and show our concern and love. The need is urgent; please pass this along to your friends and ask them to join us in prayer for ILI South Asia. Pray for India Jesus Followers.

Gone Too Soon

I heard today about two young lives that ended too soon. A New Orleans based co-worker's 21 year old son died suddenly of a brain hemorrage last Tuesday morning. Please pray for his family to help them cope with their loss. And my 15 year old daughter informed me that the 18 year old brother of a friend of hers apparently hung himself at home in Slidell, LA last night (Sunday). This news is so hard for a parent to hear. Please pray for his family and pray for his troubled soul.

Sister's custody trial

My sister's ex-husband is being especially cruel to her right now, and he is trying to take her son away. He is 8 years old, and he was recently diagnosed with dyslexia, something his mother struggled with while in school. His father denies that his son has a problem, and he is trying to take him away from his mother. She just recently moved to Texas to be in better schools and be near family. God provided a job and a place to live for her. Please pray that her ex-husband changes his heart, and that God will make him a new creation.

Ian, a 5 year old in a coma

On their way to a wedding on July 3, my cousin, Stephanie and her husband Tod and their 3 young children, Ian, 5 yrs, Loren, 2 yrs, and Luke, 1 yrs, were in a car accident which killed Stephanie and Tod. Loren and Luke are doing well, each have a broken arm. Ian is still a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah in a coma, but not needing life support. In addition to being extremely devastated by the death of our cousin, we are praying and worrying about the fate of their 3 children and the health of little Ian, who is a wonderful boy.
