TWUMC Mission Opportunities:

This year we are offering a wide variety of opportunities for you to serve in a foreign or local mission setting. If you have felt God tugging on your heart to go on a mission trip, now is the time to answer that call. January 23-30 – Haiti – We are working in the poor rural village of Bayaha. We are starting a school for 50 children, building a church/school, and helping the people start small businesses to survive. Cost: $1300

March 13-21 – Prague, Czech Republic – Senior High Youth Group – Our youth will spend time with Czech students, sharing information on each others’ lives and being a witness for Christ. Cost: TBA

March 13-21 – Mission Arlington – Junior High Youth Group – Mission Arlington is a Vacation Bible School ministry in low income apartment complexes. Cost: TBA

May 1-8 – Chiapas, Mexico – Chiapas is in the southern-most part of Mexico. With the church members, we will be constructing a church in a Mayan village. Cost: $1300

May 8-15 – Guatemala – Living Water – Drilling a well that provides pure water to a village that has none, changes lives more than you can imagine. The team will be divided in two. One will drill a well and the other will do hygiene training. Cost: $1650

May 15-29 – Osijek, Croatia – Supporting the new library at the Evangelical Theological Seminary of Croatia, this team will process thousands of recently donated books for the library plus minister to students and locals. Cost: $2300

June 6-13 – Costa Rica – Senior High Youth – The youth and adults on this trip will work in the inner-city slums doing eye exams and giving sight to those who need it. We will also do a Vacation Bible School. Cost: TBA

June 12-20 – Quiche, Guatemala – Men’s Team – Working with the Mayan Indians to construct a Christian school, there are many opportunities for ministry and Christian fellowship. Cost: $1350

June 12-20 – San Lucas, Guatemala – Women’s Team – Women ministering to teenaged girls at Casa Aleluya, an orphanage that has 500 children. Cost: $1350

June 20-July 3 – China – A team of professionals (executives, doctors, attorneys, etc.) will meet with professional Chinese Christians from the underground church to discuss and teach on living a Christian life while working and existing within the professional world. Cost: $4200

July 2-10 - Costa Rica - This mission trip is for families (cannot take children younger than 5th grade).  Families will be doing labor in Cost Rica.  Fun activities will be planned throughout the week.  For more info and pricing, contact Eric Albert at ealbert@twumc.org / 281.297.5963. 

July 10-18 – Quiche, Guatemala – The Mayans are a proud, but oppressed people. We will help to build a new church and conduct a Vacation Bible School for the children. Cost: $1350

July 23-August 7 – Sudan – This small team of 8 will live in a remote village in grass huts while teaching pastors and church leaders how to teach the Bible through the art of story telling. Cost: $4700

July 25-31 – U. M. Army – Adults and Senior High Youth – We assist low income families here in Texas. We paint, repair leaking roofs, build wheel chair ramps, and holes in floors. Cost: TBA

November 4-7 – Juarez, Mexico – Quest Men’s Trip – A four-day mission trip into the poorest slums, helping families build a solid, waterproof home. Cost: $775
